Musics!

Post by Exawatt »

Here's a list of my current listening habits (bands only):

Apoptygma Berserk (older stuff)
Armin van Buuren*
Assemblage 23
The Crüxshadows
De/vision
Ego Likeness
Fischerspooner
Gabriel and Dresden
NamNamBulu [now Frozen Plasma]
Neuroticfish
Mindless Self Indulgence (older stuff)
Orgy
The Prodigy
Qntal
ThouShaltNot
VNV Nation
Voltaire

*Armin van Buuren also DJs a weekly digital show called "A State of Trance" which I have over 50 hours of. It's mostly trance/house/EBM.

I'll usually just download a "500 trance songs" torrent and just play that until I download another one. Those cases account for ~75% total music-listening time.

I don't like "popular" music much. I'd rather the car be silent than have a radio station on. But, I have heard a couple of good "popular" songs, such as Rihanna's "Disturbia", Hellogoodbye's "Here In Your Arms", and Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl". I checked out their other stuff and it's mostly junk

I also keep a couple Grateful Dead CDs on hand. Just in case.

You kids and your music.
I'm still more of a party animal and most of my time I spend listening to techno/rap/hip-hop.

However when it comes to casual music, I'll listen to anything aside from screamo and pop.
oh, and fuck country.

You also might like Apoptygma Berzerk. But only their older stuff. Nowadays they sound like any old emo band.

Speaking of going emo, did you ever listen to any old AFI stuff?
Their first two cds were pretty awesome.

They have one or two good songs I can tolerate. They've always been slightly too emo for me.

The lead singer for AFI and the brains behind VNV Nation are apparently great friends (read the interview here). Just a neat bit of information.

Here's a VNV Nation remix of AFI's "Miss Murder".
